Wildling Posies
Little Wild Things — Collection No. 2
The second painting in my Little Wild Things collection, Wildling Posies is a small original filled with flowers that feel as though they have wandered in from the wild.
Real flowers have been printed into the underlying layers of the painting, creating a delicate botanical texture. Over these printed forms, I have worked with acrylic, pencil and charcoal, bringing the flowers to life across three vases.
Blue provides the grounding colour, with touches of pink and yellow bringing warmth and brightness to the arrangement. The printed flowers and painted flowers overlap and mingle, creating a little world that feels gathered rather than perfectly arranged.
Running through the painting is the line of prose:
“Wild guests at the table.”
I like the idea of flowers as unexpected visitors arriving without invitation and bringing a little colour, disorder, and joy with them.
Wildling Posies is the second of eight one-of-a-kind original paintings in my Little Wild Things collection.
