There’s something undeniably soothing about lavender. Its delicate purple hues and soft, herbal scent evoke a sense of peace, much like a quiet afternoon with nothing but a gentle breeze for company.

My latest watercolour painting captures that very essence. A simple pot overflowing with fresh lavender, its stems leaning gracefully as if caught in a silent sigh. The soft washes of violet and grey blend into each other, mirroring the way lavender itself seems to melt into the air with its calming presence.

Alongside the painting, I wrote a poem, a reflection of the comfort lavender brings. This pairing of paint and poetry feels like a quiet retreat, an invitation to slow down and let the softness settle in.
