Kisses of Autumn

Kisses of Autumn

When Summer Takes Her Final Bow

Autumn settles softly over the housing estate transforming the familiar streets into red and gold. The trees lining the pavements, once heavy with summer's green, now shed their leaves in a slow, steady shower. They fall like forgotten confetti, covering the ground in a crisp, warm quilt. A breeze sweeps through, carrying with it the earthy scent of damp leaves and woodsmoke and the air cools with the fading warmth. Summer feels like a distant visitor. She lingers for a moment, her presence felt only in the memory of long, sun-drenched days. Then, with a final swish of her skirt, she sashays away leaving behind the embrace of fall.
